Chinese Summer Camp Themed “Welcoming the Olympics, Cerebrating the Olympics” Held by Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University

On July 7th, August 2nd and 9th, the Chinese Summer Camp themed “welcoming the Olympics, cerebrating the Olympics” was held by the Confucius Institute at Chiang Mai University. A total of more than 400 primary and secondary school students from the Chiang Mai Area participated in the activities.

The students participated in activities such as idiom story performances, Olympic knowledge quiz, Chinese Karaoke competitions, Olympic speeches, mini-Olympic games, etc. The Confucius Institute teachers told students of the origins of the Fuwa and their symbolic significance. They also taught the students to make Fuwa heads and bookmarks; to learn Chinese Kungfu and Chinese songs; and explained Olympic events to them, etc.

During these rich and colorful activities, the students learned Chinese happily, and experienced Chinese culture fully. This aroused their interest in learning. They all expressed their love for Chinese culture and wished the Olympic Games complete success.
