From August 16th to 17th, 2008, Chinese language and cultural training was jointly held by the Confucius Institute at Mahasarakham University and the Chinese Language and Cultural Teaching Centre at Si Sa Ket Bonku School. More than 130 students from 21 middle schools at Si Sa Ket participated in the activity.

By using fun games, Confucius Institute teachers allowed the students to learn Chinese language, to experience and understand Chinese culture from the following six aspects: China's geography, history, culture, art, Chinese characters and the Beijing Olympics.

The activity received good appraisal from of the students. A survey after showed that 90 percent of the students expressed great satisfaction with the activity and they hoped such activities could be held every year.
