On November 11, 2007, a Southern Thailand College Chinese Language Teachers Association Meeting was held at the Confucius Institute at Prince of Songkla University. Chinese language teachers from 13 colleges and schools in Southern Thailand and deans from the Confucius Institute at Prince of Songkla University and the Confucius Institute of Suan Dusit Rajabhat University at Suphanburi were at the meeting. Representatives of the Chinese Consulate General in Thailand made a special trip to attend the meeting, and presented Chinese books to the colleges participating in the meeting.

The teachers who participated in the meeting were divided into three groups. They conducted discussions on Chinese language and culture textbooks selection, course design, Chinese teaching and research cooperation as well as difficulties and problems of teaching Chinese language, and put forward many valuable comments and suggestions.
After the meeting, they expressed that the meeting provided a platform for them to exchange ideas on their Chinese teaching experiences, playing an important role in further promoting the quality of Chinese teaching in Southern Thailand.
