I was deeply shocked by the news that on May 12, a massive earthquake occured in Sichuan Province, Gansu Province, Shanxi Province, Yunnan Province and Chongqing Municipality.

On behalf of the Confucius Institute at Lisbon University, I express my condolences to the dead and families who have lost loved ones in the earthquake as well as show our sympathy at this sad and painful moment.
