Confucius Institute at Prince of Songkla University(Thailand)

With the authorization of the office of Chinese Language Counci International, Guangxi Normal University and Ritsumeikan University cooperated to establish the Confucius Institute at Prince of Songkla University, which was unveiled in December, 2006. Founded in 1965, the Prince of Songkla University is the most famous university in the southern part of Thailand. It is presently one of the most important universities in Thailand and cultivates talent in all fields for Thailand and particularly Southern Thailand. Prince of Songkla University is in the city of Hatyal in Songkhla province. Hatyal is the third largest city in Thailand, and also the center of commerce, transportation and tourism in southern Thailand. In the Hatyal area, Chinese education and Chinese language learning is on the rise. The Confucius Institute at Prince of Songkla University is first institute in the area that specializes in Chinese language education.
